Renee lives with her pup, Toby and her bearded dragon, Calcifer. In her free time, she enjoys drinking coffee, reading, camping, and spending quality time with her family.

Children are not required to be toilet trained by a specific age or as a prerequisite for moving to the Greenhouse. We believe that a child should begin toilet training when they are physically and psychologically ready. We are prepared to partner with your family when this occurs. Coterie wipes are included in tuition. We have also partnered with Coterie to provide the option of having eco-friendly diapers delivered directly to the preschool for an additional $50 per month. You are more than welcome to not use this service and provide your own diapers. We will communicate with you with ample time for you to keep your child adequately-stocked.
Ivy Blossom Preschool is a nature-heavy environment. We embrace all seasons and explore outside in all types of weather. Our Top of the Hill campus spends a minimum of 3-4 hours per day outside, often increasing in the warmer months.
Head to the Enrollment tab and follow the prompts! Once you fill out the form, a staff member will email you with more information and tour options. Enrollment links are also located on each location's individual page.
Ivy Blossom Preschool offers both full-day and half-day care. Our full-day programs are located at the Top of the Hill and the Village campuses. Half-day care is provided at our Thorndyke campus.
Yes! Our base tuition includes lunch, two snacks, filtered water, and milk (cow or oat!) served at lunch time. We also offer a quick-grab breakfast to any child without a time cut off. Our meals are nutritious, 100% organic and cooked on site daily. Please reference our Menu & Daily Sketch page for information about our food program.
The topic that every parent thinks about but every childcare avoids directly addressing. Discipline (often incorrectly interchanged with "punishment") is anything that contributes to an environment where the behavior and atmosphere are generally desirable. Punishment is an extremely dated concept and has no place in any childcare setting. Children will never be humiliated, embarrassed. spoken down to, put in "time out", or physically harmed or inconvenienced in any way as a result of their choices or behaviors. We believe in modeling, routine, natural consequences and ongoing conversations. It is that simple. If children knew better, they wouldn't be under the watchful care of trusted adults until age 18. Teaching children self-control and kindness is no different than teaching them numbers and letters. It is a patient process that needn't be negative at any point.
We do! We use Origins Curriculum to guide our "formal" learning. It is a socially and environmentally-conscious approach to typical academic topics. Their website (originscurriculum.com) offers a "Year-at-Glance" to give you a glimpse into their topics and open-ended ideas and activities. We subscribe to their Bloom bundle. We have all spent years writing curriculum when our time would be better spent right next to a child, and it is our choice as a preschool to use our energy to nurture the children and pay for a like-minded company to guide us through preparing their minds academically for Kindergarten success.
